Benefit Rollerlash Review!

I received this mascara with the fashion magazine 'Elle', This mascara actually isn't on sale from benefit at the moment but if you buy the magazine you get to try it, I recommend you buy it because it's actually a really good magazine and it also comes with a Clinique foundation sample (which fits if you're not pale). The mascara is a mini-size but actually contains a lot of product.

The Packaging is really pretty, it comes in a pink box with really girly writing, I much prefer this to the 'They're real' packaging which i'm not too keen on.

When you take the product out of the box, the container is a cute black tube shape? with a really pretty girly font and a copper lid.

The wand of the product is designed to curl your lashes as long as lengthen them, that's the purpose of this product, the wand is similar to the watts up except the shape is slightly different, this ones more curved like the maybelline falsies mascara.
You don't need a lot of product to lengthen the lashes, I found it to do that quite quickly, although this doesn't lengthen as well as the 'they're real' it does curl them a lot more and makes them more visible.
I deffinatley think this is a good mascara and would probably buy the full size. It hasn't ran or smudged and it doesn't clump which I like.

I don't think it's the best mascara i've ever used, it's similar to the volume de chanel mascara except with this product you don't need as much, I don't know how much the full size will be but If it's under £20 then I think it's worth it but I wouldn't buy it if it was over.

Favourite Makeup Products of 2014

I haven't really bought anything new recently, so I decided to look through my makeup bag and pick out my all time favourite products of 2014. (or before). There isn't an order to the list as I like most of these products equally and will continue to re-purchase again and again.

Disclaimer~ All opinions are my own, this post isn't going to be too detailed and is just going to be pro's and con's of each product, anything written in italics is what the company has stated the product does and be aware that just because I think a product is good doesn't mean that you will, everybody has different skin types and likes different finishes of things, I will state what finish it is and what skin type it is best for as I think that's more helpful.

Numbero Uno;

Too Faced Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer

Price- £25.00 From Boots
Pro's- Has Two Shades, 1st Shade Looks really natural, 2nd Shade defy's specific area's of the face.
Con's- 2nd shade is hard to blend.

"dual-toned bronzer is a silky combination of a rich, golden bronze and a classic bronze with a touch of pink undertone to achieve year round bronzed perfection that mimics a natural tan without any of the orangey ick!"
The product does live up to the description which is why this is one of my faves!

Number 2-

 Mac Mineralise Skinfinish Natural

 Price- £23.00 from MAC
Pro's- Doesn't Mattify skin, Doesn't make you look dry, Add's coverage, only need a small amount
Con's- None I can think of

"A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect light coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day. New mirrored compact."

I wouldn't describe this product as a matte finish as to me it doesn't mattify my skin at all which I like as I prefer my foundation to look more dewy as I feel like Matte can sometimes resemble chalk, Overall this is my favourite powder and I will continue to re-purchase again and again.

Number 3-

bareMinerals Eyeshadow Quad- The A list.

Price (Retail) £30.00- However now unavailable to buy but The Good Life is very similar.

Pros'- Pretty colours, extremely pigmented, nice shades, doesn't require a lot of product
Con's- now unavailable to re-purchase, expensive.

'The A list'

"Eyeshadow provides exceptionally vivid, long-wearing colour in an ultra smooth, silky texture for effortless application and seamless blendability with four shades that create multiple looks."

I agree with the product description and these are deffinately some of my favourite eyeshadows, Hopefully I'll buy some other similar palettes when this one runs out.

Number 4-

 Benfit 'Brow Zings'

Price- £24.50

Pro's- The wax holds your eyebrows in place all day, really easy to apply, the colour of the wax is really nice.
Con's- The brown has a really red tinge so I have to use my own shadow.

"Our brow kit comes with all the tools you need for clean, smooth, perfect brows."

The product did come with tweezers but I don't have them, I think the product is deffinately worth the money as you don't need much wax so it will last a long time, it's easy to apply and makes your brows look less fake.

Number 5-

MAC Pro Longwear SPF 10 Foundation

Price- £25.00 (from MAC)
Pro's- Blendable, Longwearing, Good Colour Match, Natural Finish, Full Coverage.
Con's- Can't think of any.

"A long-wear foundation that gives up to 15 hours of wear in any environmental condition. Lightweight and creamy, applies smoothly to provide sheer to medium coverage. Even in hot and humid conditions, controls oil to keep skin fresh, natural and flawless. Provides everyday SPF protection."
I won't talk too much about this as I've mentioned it in previous posts but basically this is my holy grail foundation and I think it's deffinately worth the money.

Number 6-

 Urban Decay 'Naked 2' Palette

Price- £38 (from Urban Decay
Pro's- Pigmented, long-wearing, good colours.
Con's- Fall out when applying.
"You demanded “MORE NAKED!”—and Naked2 delivers. From luminous shades with shimmer and sparkle to our smoothest mattes imaginable, Naked2 is packed with 12 never-boring taupe-hued neutrals (including a gorgeous grayish brown, a glittery copper and Urban Decay’s lewdest, blackest black). Expand your Naked range to create even more sultry neutral looks, smoky dramatic looks and everything in between.
The case has an art-school inspired look with hinged lid—taupe metal with embossed chocolate brown artwork. It's smooth, modern and cool to the touch—a real tactile experience.
Naked2 includes a professional-quality, cruelty-free double-ended shadow/blending brush AND an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Ageing). Each sample holds about a week’s worth of Primer!"

This is probably my favourite ever palette, There's such a vast selection of colours and the pigmentation is amazing, I love this palette especially for the browns and silver toned eyeshadows, I wear this over the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot, overall I will re-purchase when this runs out.

Number 7-

MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer

Price- £15.50
Pro's- Very Good Coverage, Blendable, High SPF
Con's- If applied too much can look cakey

"A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-blemishgenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin's imperfections and discolourations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains Silica to help adsorb the skin's oils. Concealer has an SPF of 35 and is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a medium to firm fibre brush (try the 242 Brush), a latex sponge, or the fingertips."
This concealer is perfect for undereyes and spots, I love how compact it is and the high SPF makes it good for summer.

Number 8-

Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara

Price- £19.50
Pro's- Long Lashes, Really Dark , Buildable
Con's- Can clump and melt if too hot.

"They're real! lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!"
I bought this Mascara because my friend Amy loves benefit and said this mascara is really good, I think that it makes your lashes long really quickly and doesn't take too much mascara however it can get really clumpy if you apply a few coats.

Number 9-

MAC Fluidline Eyeliner
Price- £15.50 (from MAC)

Pro's- Longwearing, easy to apply, waterproof.
Con's- Hard to remove is gone wrong.

"Ultra-smooth, Fluidline's gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on foolproof with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes"
I love this eyeliner as I find it applies smoothly and is really easy to use, the colour is an intense black (the shade blacktrack) and doesn't fade throughout the day.

Number 10-

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils

Price- £5 (From NYX UK)
Pro's- Longwearing, intense colour, easy to blend.
Con's- None

Top shade is 'Knight' and the bottom is 'Sparkle Nude'
"A radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eye shadow. Made with a blend of mineral oil and powder, our creamy Jumbo Eye Pencils glide on effortlessly no pulling, tugging or fading and come in a rainbow of vivid hues. Some call her chubby. We say voluptuous. Available in 28 shades."
I love this product as it's so easy to blend and it's really reasonably priced, the pigmentation is amazing and you can use it for an eyeliner or an eyeshadow.

Number 11-

 MAC Lipstick in Dark Side

Price- £15.50 (From MAC)
Pro's- Longwearing, Super Pigmented, Lovely Colour Choices.
Con's- Hard to apply.

"Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous."
I do love this colour but do find it takes a while to apply even with a liner, however I have never found a lipstick I like as much as this.

Number 12-

Tanya Burr Lipgloss- 'Afternoon Tea'

Price- £6.99 (from Superdrug)
Pro's- Longwearing, Good Colour, Smells Lovely
Con's- Can be sticky.

"If you're hankering after the perfect catwalk-inspired pout or want an everyday high shine lip gloss, take a look at these gleaming lip glosses from Tanya Burr."
I love this lipgloss as it smells like strawberries and applies really nicely, the colour is really pretty and It's not too shiny.

Number 13-

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot

Price- £15.50 (from MAC)
Pro's- Longwearing, intensifies Eyeshadows, Creamy texture
Con's- N/A

"A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. The next generation of a popular M·A·C formula, Paint Pots maintains all the intense traits of its inspiration. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners. Available in satin, cream, frost, and pearl formulas."
I love this product under my eyeshadows and by itself, it covers uneven eye-lids and makes eyeshadows a lot stronger and last even longer, this is a must have!

MAC Pro longwear Foundation vs Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I read a lot of reviews saying that the Revlon Colorstay is a dupe for the MAC pro longwear and as that foundation is my absolute favourite thing, I figured if I could get the same thing for half the price then that would be amazing. I purchased this foundation from Superdrug yesterday for £11 (as I have a discount&loyalty card) The MAC one I'd purchased around a month ago for about £25, however it was a new bottle as my old one finished yesterday. I first tried this foundation today as I was going into Colchester and wanted to see how well it lasted (and as I was going into MAC there mirrors are really good so I could precisely see it) I applied it using the real techniques complexion sponge. (My absolute favourite thing to apply foundation with ever) It gave a really good coverage and the colour matched really well (my shade is 'buff') Once it has been applied I noticed that it was a normal finish (not satin and not matte) I prefer my foundations dewy so I wasn't too keen on this, it also made my pores stand out more and the foundation was so visible on the skin so I wasn't too keen. It lasted the day however so it does give a good coverage and has good lasting power, I just don't like the finish.

Half and Half

I decided to do a comparison by wearing half revlon and half MAC.
First of all I applied my moisturiser which is the simple light moisturiser

On my left I applied the MAC pro longwear in NW15 with a complexion sponge all over that side.
NW15

This Foundation is quite dewy and gives you a 'healthy glow' I never have to wear a primer underneath as it lasts all day. It blends in and covers pores really well aswell as spots and redness.

I then applied the Revlon Colorstay on the right side of my face using the same application technique as before
This is for normal to dry skin and in shade buff.

I found this foundation to look quite similar but the finish is different, as it's less dewy I don't like putting powder on top meaning my foundation doesn't last as long. (My powder is the MAC mineralise so it isn't even drying) However I do think this is a really good foundation and if you can't afford the MAC one then this is very similar, however I'd rather spend the extra money and purchase the MAC one as I find it better suited for me.

End result on face;
No foundation

left side- MAC

Right side- revlon
