MAC Pro longwear Foundation vs Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I read a lot of reviews saying that the Revlon Colorstay is a dupe for the MAC pro longwear and as that foundation is my absolute favourite thing, I figured if I could get the same thing for half the price then that would be amazing. I purchased this foundation from Superdrug yesterday for £11 (as I have a discount&loyalty card) The MAC one I'd purchased around a month ago for about £25, however it was a new bottle as my old one finished yesterday. I first tried this foundation today as I was going into Colchester and wanted to see how well it lasted (and as I was going into MAC there mirrors are really good so I could precisely see it) I applied it using the real techniques complexion sponge. (My absolute favourite thing to apply foundation with ever) It gave a really good coverage and the colour matched really well (my shade is 'buff') Once it has been applied I noticed that it was a normal finish (not satin and not matte) I prefer my foundations dewy so I wasn't too keen on this, it also made my pores stand out more and the foundation was so visible on the skin so I wasn't too keen. It lasted the day however so it does give a good coverage and has good lasting power, I just don't like the finish.

Half and Half

I decided to do a comparison by wearing half revlon and half MAC.
First of all I applied my moisturiser which is the simple light moisturiser

On my left I applied the MAC pro longwear in NW15 with a complexion sponge all over that side.
NW15

This Foundation is quite dewy and gives you a 'healthy glow' I never have to wear a primer underneath as it lasts all day. It blends in and covers pores really well aswell as spots and redness.

I then applied the Revlon Colorstay on the right side of my face using the same application technique as before
This is for normal to dry skin and in shade buff.

 I found this foundation to look quite similar but the finish is different, as it's less dewy I don't like putting powder on top meaning my foundation doesn't last as long. (My powder is the MAC mineralise so it isn't even drying) However I do think this is a really good foundation and if you can't afford the MAC one then this is very similar, however I'd rather spend the extra money and purchase the MAC one as I find it better suited for me.

End result on face;
No foundation

left side- MAC

Right side- revlon

Thankyou for reading! Next blog post will be most likely next Sunday:]]
