Howdy! Sorry for not updating in over a month, I had things come up which took priority but hopefully now I can update more frequently, well to make up for the slacking I figured I'd give you longer blogpost; so enjoy! :]
I recently got given the Naked 2 fake/dupe, 'W7 IN THE BUFF' This product retails at £8 whereas the original is £38. I usually wear all eyeshadow over a primer, (Normally a MAC paint pot in 'painterly', or the blinc eyeshadow primer in 'light') However I did not put the swatches over any primer, using primer often improves the colour of the shadow and makes it last longer, so if you think the pigmentation is good now, then deffinately consider purchasing it.
I have decided to swatch the indervidual colours, the real is on the left side and the fake is on the right.
Packaging
Here is what the packaging looks like;
Colours
On the left is the fake pallete and on the right is the real, both are pretty similar to the eye. I think that with the darkest black the real one appears a lot darker, and also with the 3rd from the bottom the real one looks darker, but apart from that they are extremely similar.
On the left/top is Naked 2's 'Foxy vs In The Buff's 'Buff' |
Both shades are very similar, they are both also very sheer, I think the real one's a little bit more visable. However they are extremely similar.
On the top is Naked 2's 'Halfbaked' vs In The Buff's 'Camel' |
Left is Naked 2's 'Bootycall vs In The Buff's 'Sand' |
Left is Naked 2's 'Chopper' vs In The Buff's 'Dust' |
Left is Naked 2's 'Tease' vs In The Buff's 'Chocolate' |
The real one is a little bit darker, it's more pigmented and noticeable. The fake one is lighter but both are very easy to blend.
Left is Naked 2's 'Snakebite' vs In The Buff's 'Topaz' |
The fake one is a little bit more shimmery, the real one is a tiny bit darker but both are extremely close and there's no noticable difference when blended out.
Left Naked 2's 'Suspect' vs In The Buff's 'Earth' |
left Naked 2's 'Pistol' vs In The Buff's 'Storm' |
The real one is a little bit more pigmented however I think the colour is exactly the same. Both an off-grey/green.
Left is Naked 2's 'Verve' vs In The Buff's 'Silk' |
Both are very pretty colours, I find the real one has blue undertones and the fake one has pink, both very similar though. Easier to work with the fake one.
Left is Naked 2's 'YDK' vs In The Buff's 'Wave' |
Both are pretty colour, quite different, the real ones more bronze and 'Expensive looking' where as the fakes a cheap bronze looking colour, wouldn't wear the fake however it's not horrible.
Left is Naked 2s 'Busted' vs In The Buff's 'Thunder' |
Both are pretty, extremely similar, I can't see any noticable differences. Both well pigmented.
Left is Naked 2's 'Blackout' vs In The Buff's 'Onyx' |
Both dark matte blacks, the real is a lot more pigmented, it's darker and you don't need as much but both are extremely matte black shades!
Overall
They are both very similar, I prefer the packaging and colous of the Naked 2 but affordability of the In The Buff, you could get 4 of them for the price of the Naked 2! However it all depends on whether you like having 'designer' and expensive makeup, I like both equally so when my Naked 2 runs out, I will probably rebuy the 'In The Buff' as it's really cheap but amazing quality!
I hope this blogpost helps anyone, Peace out little enchiladas! <3 xxx
